And the winner of the CPR competition is…

Ambulance side shot

Congratulations to Dave Thurgood, Community First Responder from Harlow, for winning the best two minutes of CPR as part of a series of cardiac fun days across the Trust.

He has won a ticket to the Research Councils UK (RSUK) ‘scientific symposium’ in November and will be entered into a prize draw to win a trip to Norway.

Clinical equipment company Laerdal, who ran the CPR competition, found Dave’s score of 100% the best in the Trust.

Area Clinical Lead, Lewis Andrews, said: “Congratulations Dave on winning the competition. It was great to see so many staff take part in the competition and support the fun days. As we all know the importance of high quality CPR is a key element in the chain of survival for cardiac arrest patients and any opportunity to maintain and improve our skills should be taken. We hope to do something similar in the future.”

Well done to our runners up 2nd place, Robert McLaughlin, Student Paramedic at Melbourn, and 3rd place, Kirsty Burstow, Paramedic at Hemel.
